Sorry to miss your passing

I met wally when we both worked fot tristar as owner drivers. When tristar purchased their own cars he worked at heathrow and I went to work in London. I always stayed in touch visiting capital whenever I was at heathrow . I took a corporate job and in 1989 I started again as an owner driver. One day wally phoned me and said he had a big job in London and could I find chauffeurs that knew London. I found about 20 owner drivers and Wally was happy I found them and the Big job went off well. The people I used were always grateful for this job and it helped most of them establish themselves. I always popped in to see him at Hugh Damien and when I started my own offices in London we did lots of business for him.                       When The conjestion charge came in the business for chauffeurs changed and then tfl licencing things we did not do too much . Then I went into Wallys office one day and told him about the boat I kept at Brighton marina and said it let you get the chauffeuring in the background. The next time I visited Wally at Hugh damien he showed me a picture of his boat and invited me to a trip out.On his own he took his boat and me from St Katherines dock to dungeoness.I got a car home and Wally carried on to Torquay. He was always great fun and anything he did had to be perfect.some people could not understand when he got angry with them in the Chauffeur business if they made mistakes and unfortunately had badwords about Wally but they only saw their side. Wally was a lovely generous man and had a lovely family. I wish he was still here and was so sorry to miss his funeral.
